How do you break into a snap on toolbox?
Q. Somebody tried to break into my snap on toolbox, and they broke the circular lock. The good thing is that they failed to break into it, but now i cant open it. Does anybody know how to break into a snap on toolbox that has a broken lock?

A. Drill the lock out and with the tumblers gone you can turn the drawer lock mechanism with a screwdriver.

Is it possible to break the yoke of an egg without breaking the shell?
Q. We've all heard the phrase "you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs", right? I've always wondered, is that actually true? It seems to me that you should be able to break the yoke without breaking the shell, so, if anybody knows how, you could please tell me?

A. I worked at the Waffle House and HATED scrambling eggs, so I'd always shake the egg really hard and fast before I cracked it open. It really does come out scrambled.

How to separate the break from the bicycle wheel?
Q. My bicycle break is touching my bicycle wheel (front break and wheel) when I don't apply breaking.. Thus, the wheel cannot rotate freely. I am thinking to loose the wire. Is this the correct way to fix the problem? I never modified the wire. Why the two rubber breaks touch the wheel? Thanks.
Asked by KNW - Sun Nov 4 12:08:26 2007 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Just screw in the adjuster on your brake lever. If there is no more adjustment then loosen the cable on the brakes themselves. (They should still be very close to the wheel when you are done)

How to break a late night sleeping routine and fall asleep early and quick?
Q. I have been falling asleep very late the past break days, and on the day before I have commitments early in the morning, I decide to try breaking the habit. I am afraid I'm going to end up falling asleep very, very late and wake up very late also. Are there any strategies or remedies that will help me break a late night falling asleep routine in one night? Please and thank you contributors!

A. There is something I used to do (I used to work shifts so my sleep pattern was all over the place). You need to get up quite early, regardless of the time you went to bed (7am is a good enough time). Do not sleep at all during the day and around 10pm go to bed. Make sure you drink water (not tea or coffee) before bed and relax. As you lay there, keep your eyes closed and count down from 20 (count down 1 each time you breath out). You will notice your breathing slowing down and normally, before you get to 1, you will be out like a light. Do this 2 - 3 days in a row and you will find that 10-11pm becomes a normal sleep time for your body and waking up at 7am feeling refreshed is good. With a bit of practise, this can change your whole sleep… [cont.]

What break up stories can you share where it made you happier in the end?
Q. Kind of similar to my last question, but a little different... What break up stories do you have that can support the idea that a hard break up can actually be a very good opportunity for someone to find someone/something better? I know I will heal over time and I know that there has to be someone out there for me, but it would be really encouraging to hear some good stories about people finding love after being crushed! Thanks everyone!

A. Im sorry someone broke your heart :( The good news is it does get better. But it is also up to you to let yourself grieve for what you lost, but then get back into the swing of things and not let it break you! My last break up was baaad. We were living together, very lovey dovey and literally out of the blue, one day he comes home and says he doesn t think things are going to work out. Huge blow, didn t see it coming at all. Just that afternoon he sent me a text telling me he loves me and cant wait to see me. Long story, so I wont get into the in depth details. But we talked that night and we seemed to come the the conclusion that we would see how it goes. Then the next morning he doesn t come to work (we worked for the same company)… [cont.]

How do you break the pattern of being attracted to unavailable people?
Q. I only seem to be attracted to people that are unavailable, and I have not been in a relationship in years. Has anyone else had this pattern and been successfully able to break out of it? Also, the last 2-3 months I've been hanging out with someone who is nice, sweet, available, interested, and I feel comfortable around them. The only thing is, I don't feel super attracted to them - only mildly. The thought of kissing them doesn't seem exciting but I wouldn't mind it. Should I pursue it anyway to try to break out of my habit?

A. Maybe part of your attraction is the challenge if you can get the unavailable person to notice you. You would not want someone to go after your love so yes pursue the one that is available to help break your habit.

How do you break a dishwasher?
Q. I want to break my dishwasher without making it look abused. We live in an apartment complex and they will not give us a new dishwasher. It's like 10 years old and sucks electricity!!! If it is broken they will replace it with a new one sooo yea...
Asked by lozertito - Sun Jun 29 15:38:25 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. it's actually almost impossible for you to break a dishwasher intentionally and have it look like it was a wear-and-tear damage. Also, if you do go and find some small way to damage it, odds are it will be found much more cost-effective to replace just that broken piece, so you'll still end up with the same old dishwasher.

How to calculate break even revenue when variable cost and selling price is changing every year?
Q. A. Obviously a break even calculation only applies to the point in time the numbers are for - it changes continuously, but most likely not very much very fast. let n be the number of items sold, calculate by solving the equation selling price times n = variable cost times n, plus fixed costs is breakeven number of items sold - revenue for that would be selling price times n

How can I break a plateau and improve my chess?
Q. I'm a good amateur player, but have never broken that barrier to be really good at chess. I hover somewhere between 1500 and 1650, although I've brushed 1700 at my best. This year, I'd like to break the 1800 barrier. There are a lot of books out there about strategies within the game itself, and finding the best move, but very little written about how to become a good player. Is there any book you would recommend on that subject? Also, what is a good way to improve as a player: Blind chess? Simultaneous games? Analysing your games? Finding a teacher? Etc... Is there a way to find out exactly what your weaknesses are and working on them? That's the sort of advice I'm looking for. Thank you.

How do I break my habit of curling my hand round my pen when I write?
Q. "It can be difficult for left-handed children to learn to write if the teacher does not take the student's left-handedness into account. When properly done, left-handed writing is a mirror image to that of the right-hander, making the teaching process confusing for the teacher (if right-handed) of a left-handed student. The result is that many left-handed people learn to write with their hand curled around the pen so that it can meet the paper at the same angle as the right hander, rather than simply tilt the paper the opposite way. Once this habit is formed, it is difficult to break. This curling of the hand results in the heel of the palm being placed behind the writing, forcing the writer to lift it off the paper and making the grip… [cont.]

A. I'm left-handed and I do exactly the same thing. I honestly don't think it's a big deal, unless you're handwriting is terrible. Get your friends - if you sit next/near them, in most classes, to tell you. If all else fails, try writing out lines with your mom or dad or guardian to tell you if you're curling your hand. Some people are just born that way, though. I've heard you can get special "grips" (I used to have them). I guess they work for some people (although I wound up putting them in the trash in frustration). Try looking into them.

How do I break my bad forearm passing habit when playing volleyball?
Q. While I am waiting for the ball to come closer to me I bring my arms up closer to my chest and then back down to the normal position. I am trying to break this habit because when serves come harder I will miss the ball altogether. How can I break this terrible habit? I try to just remember to stop but I always forget. Please help!
Asked by nintendo-girl77 - Fri Oct 23 19:11:52 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You have to re-program yourself so that a new habit can over-ride an old bad habit. You do this by a lot of repetition. You should practice your 'ready' position for when you expect to receive a dig or spike - and know that the 'dig' is required to receive it. Do 20 - 50 repetitions - of being unready, and then getting ready. Do this throughout the week - after 2 weeks - you don't think about doing this practice anymore - it simply becomes part of 'you' while playing volleyball. I do think you have to do an instant assessment - whether the ball coming to you - is high or low? If unsure - you adopt the dig ready position anyway. If it ends up being a high ball, chances are - you can just duck it - and it was going to go 'out' anyway... [cont.]

How do I break in my new softball glove?
Q. I got a new first-basemen softball glove about two weeks ago. I've used it at practice, put shaving cream in it, and placed it under my mattress. It's close to being broken in but I would really love to use it during my tournament during the weekend. Any suggestions on how to completely break it in?

A. The Rawlings oil is best...just don't get the 'baking' kit. You rub that stuff in and then put the glove in the oven to speed up the process...it can seriously dry out the leather and the manufacturers of the gloves do not recommend it.

How do I break her from taking her cup to bed with her without listening to her cry herself to sleep cause she can't have it?

A. I doubt you will be able to avoid crying all together. :) We gradually reduced the amount of liquid in the cup for our daughter over the period of a month, she got used to drinking less and less and eventually stopped getting a cup in bed completely.

What happens on your break during the pill?
Q. I started the pill on the first day of my period, and I have now done my three week course and am ready for my 7 day break. I'm wondering how long it will take for my period to come and go during the 7 day break, does anyone know? Whether it might last longer etc. I took my last pill today, so when is my period likely to come? Thank you for your help.

A. Well i normally get mine 4 days into my 7 day break and then im stuck with it for 5 days :( However, i can tell im still adjusting so i think you have to give the pill time to really get in your system and then your body will adapt. But then it differs for every woman.
